Behind NAT Carrier

Seen a few posts but often not answered about this problem. We live on our boat so automating it has been quite fun. Something different!

Of course we use 4G mobile broadband so behind a NAT.

Someone suggested sshreach.me but I’m a noob so not quite sure how to go about setting it up.

Any installation tips or other suggestions?
Not sure about setting up an external server and tunneling that way…

What are you trying to acheive? Most people who want external access to hass simply forward a port, either directly to hass, or to a vpn.

Security of course must be applied (ssl and a decent hass password as a minimum)

Yeah thanks.
External access is long term hence why I’m researching this.

A NAT has no external IP so I can’t port forward nor can I use DuckDNS and all the usual set ups.

You most probably are not getting a public IP address on 4G so remote access is a challenge.

You might try using tor

Tried using PiTunnel. Got it working and was sitting in a hotel looking at my home assistant. All working well (so I thought) AAANNNNDDD then I lost access. Mrs calls me up and nothing is working at home. Had to restart the Pi. Got all too much for it.

Don’t need access outside the network to be honest and I think the focus is currently on stability rather than things like this.

Sorry for going off topic, but can you guide me to setup your behind GCN? I’ve have tried for days now without success. Still not sure it is even possible.

Hos did you install it? Through terminal plugin in HA?
