Bell home hub 2000 device tracker

Hi I am trying to set up some automation based on if I am home or not
I have seen some state: ‘home’ conditions so did some reading and think this will work with device tracker.
I tried to set up for my Bell fibe home hub 2000 using this to find my phone

device_tracker:
  - platform: Bell fibe
    host: 192.168.2.1
    username: admin
    password: admin
    new_device_defaults:
      track_new_devices: true
      hide_if_away: false

I am getting the following error
2019-09-26 19:28:49 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.config] Platform error: device_tracker - Integration Bell fibe not found.

Anyone use bell home hub 2000?

Can someone please help?

You created this line in the device_tracker’s configuration:

platform: Bell fibe

That tells Home Assistant to use the Bell Fibe integration. The error message is telling you that it cannot find an integration called ‘Bell Fibe’.

I searched the available Integrations and there’s no match for Bell Fibe or Home Hub 2000.

Do you have a custom integration available, called Bell Fibe, or did you enter those words in the hope it will magically work?

yes I just hopped on magic. Bell fibe is my internet provider modem. I thought any modem would work.
I understand now.
So I guess I would hove to look at other options for using my phone as away or home
Thanks

FWIW, I have Virgin’s Valerie modem which is the same hardware as Bell’s Home Hub 2000 (Virgin uses Bell’s infrastructure). These devices are locked down; end-users only have access via the device’s web-interface and not via any API (Application Programming Interface) or even via telnet. Therefore the odds are slim to none of ever seeing an integration for this device.

Thanks for that great info, it will save me time now as I will not pursue that path for no reason.
I will look at other options.

FYI:
Valérie = Home Hub 3000
Steve = Home Hub 2000

You’re right about the names. The inability to access/control remains unchanged.
