Just wondering what the best bang for buck is motorised roller blinds? I’d ideally like NOT to use the kind of motor which merely pulls the blind cord, I’d prefer the motor to be integrated in the blind itself.
Don’t mind a bit of a DIY solution if it comes to it and pulls the price down, but I don’t have a 3D printer…
The other thing I’m wondering about is whether sending off a projector screen to have it “motorised” is a thing? I have a project which is just a ‘hung’ screen, it’s not like a roller blind, if you want it rolled up you have to roll it yourself and then tie a string round it when it’s rolled. Would be cool to convert it. Anyone done this?
Have a look at the DM25LE Tubular motor.
I have not personally used them, but I am using the Dooya DT82TV Curtain track / Motor from the same seller. I am controlling them with a Sonoff RF Bridge with Portisch Firmware installed.
Cool, seems to get good reviews. I have to admit I know nothing about these motors - do you need to buy one that’s more or less equal to the width of the blind, or are they designed just to sit in one end and not span the entire width? Also I notice in the Q&A someone’s asked if they’re 240v or 110v? I guess this means the transformer for recharging purposes?
Finally, I guess given that it’s a DC motor not a stepper motor, it talks about electric limit switches - couldn’t see any signs of these in the pics?
You can see you need to supply a tube for the motor to go in, so you can have what ever length you want. Yes the motor would just in at one end.
Regarding the electronic limits. If it’s like my Garage Roller door there will be two little screws you adjust (probably Variable Resistors) on the body. They will limit the up and down travel length.
