I’ve been searching for WEEKS to find some good cameras for my outdoors that I can tie into HA.
I’m looking for 2 to 4 K quality with night vision and be able to have POE capabilities. Any suggestions
I plan to record for atleast two weeks.
Motion detection isint a huge deal I don’t really care about that.
I’m hoping I can see the video being recorded / streamed in a home assistant card.
I’ve looked at hikvision cameras, they look great but the specs are a little bit hard to understand.
I don’t really care what style the cameras look like, as long as they can Handle -40 degrees Celsius and below that, and upwards of +40 degrees Celsius
Please send my your best options! Thanks
With @tom_l on the mil specs. I personally use hikvision cams and more than happy for the specs / price ratio.
Already recommended to mates who also love them
One thing I’d mention for outdoor cams, dome aren’t great unless they’re protected from the rain (raindrops make everything blurry), so I’d go for a turret style (less rain drops, less cobwebs) or bullet style (no raindrops but spiders love them)
I’m a fan of Amcrest, but specs are only -10C, although if it gets colder then that I’m sure the cameras would be okay for a short while barring it warms up later in the day. -40C is pretty darn cold though, where are using them?
The plus with Amcrest is they are also ONVIF complaint so it opens up options to use apps like Tinycam on a smartphone with the cameras as well as HA.
