Best way to keep Nest temp low when on holiday?

I have an automation that starts stuff when I’m on holiday. One of the things I want is that my Nest not only goes down to eg 15 degrees C but also strays there until I tell it to go up (eg a few hours before I get home form my holiday).

What would the best actions be to send to Nest when on holiday? I assume that just setting the temperature to 15 and the state to away will not be enough as the Nest schedule will assume I’m coming home like normal and well start heating again in the afternoon.

The holiday automation could call a script the sets the climate then delays for x amount of time and then turns this script back on. Then when you return an automation could turn the looping script off.
