Hello, I want to run Home Assistant and Homebridge on a Raspberry Pi. Would you recommend running each in a separate container, or installing HA OS and then running Homebridge in a container? I have been running Homebridge for a while. I am new to Home Assistant. Thank You!
I assume you’re running homebridge to get some non-homekit items into Apple Home, right? You’ll probably find that you won’t need it anymore after you get home assistant set up. I used to run homebridge as well but shut it down once I had everything moved over.
Yes, I have a moderate sized Insteon network. Homebridge enables me to continue utilizing those and not wholesale replacing them. Over time, I will add Matter/Thread devices where it makes sense. It could be that over time, HA replaces the Homebridge functions in my network as you state.
I’ve never used any Insteon stuff - am I remembering that that was one of the companies that pulled support or cloud access after shutting down? Anyhow, there appears to be a capable Insteon integration for Home Assistant.
