I was on the verge of picking up the Aeotec Wallmote Quad, but from what I can find in the forums here, it looks like it isn’t well-supported in Hass.io. What’s the consensus here on the best alternative? I need something I can wall-mount and use to trigger automations.
I use the MiniMote. Works good. You have to put it in scene mode though. There are some posts floating around here on how to do that.
Note sure that that’s an option any longer. Looks an awful lot like they’ve discontinued the MiniMote in favor of the NanoMote One and NanoMote Quad, neither of which I can find any compatibility information on in this forum.
any luck with the nanomote? I got one and I can see it doing things in the OZW logs, but it’s not showing any activity in the HA logs. But HA shows it as a zwave node.
Yes, I was able to get the Nanomote Quad working partially. It’s a little weird, since it doesn’t show up as a switch at all, just a single zwave entity. I ended up having to create a series of automations that trigger based on specific changes in the zwave entity (e.g., when button 1 is tapped, do X, when button 2 is pressed, do Y, etc.).
Nanomote works great. Use the device specific settings that I have added for a quick setup: https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/z-wave/device-specific/#aeotec-nanomote-quad.
Easy as adding them to your automations.
