Go to Configuration then Integrations

1: Near the bottom select ZHA and put in the port usually it’s /dev/ttyUSB1 and protocol ezsp
2: At the bottom select Z-Wave and put in the port for the HUSBZB-1 usually it’s /dev/ttyUSB0

Should be all set… restart the system and start adding devices.

for europe I got the bitron video (magenta smarthome) ZHA stick and it works perfectly and is very cheap.
(in europe the zigbee zwave frequency is not the same as in the US. so the HUSBZB-1 stick does not work with zigbee zwave in europe)

How is the latency for Conbee/deCONZ? I understood it uses HTTP REST which is quite sad? It means there must be always a noticeable delay for the overhead of HTTP? What about zigbee2mqtt?

It uses web socket for events to hass so it is instant. No noticeable delay triggering stuff from home assistant to deconz either

Well, my solution was to go with Deconz+Conbee on an external Pie, works perfect and stable.

HI, I have the same setup running. Have you ever checked you can run more then one deconz gateways on HA. would be nice to know before ordering more Pis and sticks.

thanks, have two now… Still strggling a bit with new device joining, as they are not visible in HA, always needs a HASS Restart… also Old Entities like old groups, not existing in deconz anymore are still in HA.

You can run the deconz device refresh service instead of restarting hass. What I hear is that there is room for improvement :slight_smile:

Just to clear out any confusion for people seeing this, ZigBee uses the exact same frequency all over the world (2.4 GHz).

What you’re talking about is Z-Wave, which has different frequencies in different regions (868.4MHz in Europe and 908.4MHz in the US).

The stick you’re referring to supports both ZigBee and Z-Wave, so the Z-wave part probably won’t work in europe, but the ZigBee part will.
