i think it would be (very) helpful if the comparisons would use rolling time spans instead of the current way to do it in fixed intervals: last (full) 24 hrs vs the (full) 24 hrs before that, last (full) 7 days vs the (full) 7 days before that, and so on, instead of: this day vs last day, this week vs. last week
currently, if you like to compare i.e. 2 months, you only have one day where the shown sums are directly comparable (without additional calculating) = the last day of the current month that matches the last day of the last day of the last month (and vice versa for any other possible comparison). it is of course still possible to use the next higher interval to compare a smaller interval, eg. week view to compare full days, but if you do that i.e. on the start of the week, you won’t even see one single full day (and even then the fixed intervals are not very good in showing trends).
on the other hand, the current way to use particular intervals (12th hr vs 12th hr, or monday vs monday) makes sense not as comparison, but to calculate an overall average. you would then have other (new) graphs that show i.e. the average consumption during a day (or week, or month)…
