I already replied to your support request. To my best knowledge ESPhome proxy and a BT adapter should be equivalent from the point of view of this integration. So there is no need to have both.
Not in all cases.
Only one of my Batteries have a Bluetooth Module but that one is the Master of the 5 Packs. They are all connected via RS485. In the Manufactors BT App i can see all 5 Modules named BP00/01/02/03/04.
I’ve Thaugt your integration works the same.
Probably not…
I bonded the MAC-Address via Bluetoothctl and it looks like that the connection will keep up. But HA shows just not available instead of the data.
edit:
After the Update from 1.11.5 to 1.11.6 the connection-issue is gone.
I had implemented such a setup before. So it is possible to do. You could raise a feature request and then we can work it out together. Please note that I have a lot of requests in the queue at the moment.
Weiter, there was no change from my side.
Okay, did that right now.
Works perfect with Bulltron Battery (Daly)
Just added 2 LiTime 100A batteries a couple days ago and the integration worked perfectly - quick and simple. THANKS!!!
MikeyM
Thanks for the positive feedback!
I already wrote about the data disappearing. The link quality and signal strength should be fine.
The problem with the disappearance of the data seems to be the retrieval function of the additional battery packs.
There is probably a round trip in the BP01, then BP02, then BP03 etc.
If I use the RS485 interface and the Seplos Battery Monitor to query the packs via a multi-query, this is handled in exactly the same way.
This is AMAZING! I bought 2 new eco-worth batteries that would not show up in HA until I grabbed this and then they appeared like MAGIC!
One thing though… When I restart HA it can take a while for the batteries to show, with the second one often taking many hours. I don’t do anything, just after 5-10 hours it shows back up and all is well until I restart again.
Just figured I would mention this in case it’s an issue that could be addressed.
I need more information on such an issue, so let’s continue the discussion in the issue tracker. That makes my life easier to follow up.
Great that the integration is of help for you!
That behaviour sounds like an issue with your BT setup. If you need support, please raise a question in the issue tracker, so that we can gather additional information and fix it.
First of all, I would like to thank you for the BLE Battery Manger.
Thanks to it, I was able to see exactly how the individual cell voltages of my Redodo battery behave during charging.
However, I would also like to know when the balancing of the individual cells begins.
I think I saw in the code from LiTime_BMS_bluethooth that you can get this information.
Couldn’t this also be included in the Redodo plugin?
Yes, could be done, but I first need to internally optimize some data structures.
Any suggestions for the code to add 2 BLE Battery Management system devices to an existing Bluetooth proxy. I’m aware I can only have 3 devices. The batteries are LiTime. Thanks
MikeyM
I’m not sure, I get your question. If you installed the integration the batteries should be detected automatically. If not, please follow the instructions for issues with device detection.
It’s working fine, but I’m stretching the distance limit on the and Bluetooth and wanted to add it to an existing Bluetooth proxy in my garage. I have the MAC addresses, but I’m having trouble figuring out the platform: for the BLE Battery Management System for the proxy code. Hope that makes sense. Thanks
Still not sure what you are trying to achieve. HA should automatically select an available BT receiver with the best signal strength. So if the proxy has capacity and is the better point to connect that should work automatic. But in any case you can just add additional proxies to increase coverage or number of devices. Have a look in the new BT manager of HA (2025.2+) to see which device is attached where.
Ok Thank you. I’ve been very hesitant to upgrade to 2025.2+ with all the backup problems. I’ll pursue it when I do. Thanks for the great intergration and support. MikeyM
You could use HACS and select version 1.12.0 which works with lower HA versions. ![]()
Thanks I am using 1.12.0. I works fine. They only problem is one of the batteries the BT signal is intermittent (weak). That’s why I was trying to get the BT proxy working. Thanks again for the replies. MikeyM
