So I started using the bluetooth le tracker and as I was looking for a new device, I set track new devices to true. … It seems there’s a lot of bluetooth devices in range … I may have over a thousand new entities in my system.
What would be the best way to clear all these unwanted entities out? I figure (as I’ve now set track new devices to false) that I could delete them from known devices? Will this work, or am I in for a world of pain?
I have the same issue. I have more than 6000 entities from device tracker and in the known_devices.yaml. Does anyone know how to remove them and stop this from happening? I have already turned off passive scanning in the Bluetooth integration
What I did is delete the entities in the known_devices.yaml and restarting home assistant. I think It only had blue tracked devices - not sure what it is used for other than that. I think I did not delete anything useful from there…
Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been offline for a while, but that’s what fixed it for me. To my knowledge, known_devices is only for bluetooth devices.
Thank you! I had 200,000+ entities and couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Was causing me to not be able to add widgets on Android because it would take too long to load the entities and would crash.
