Bloomsky is back

Can Bloomsky be re-ntegrated?

Is it back in business? Does it provide the same API?

They have been bought out by Nubila Network:

Nubila is apparently trying to monetize the collected data, but does appear to have a rate-limited free tier for their API (but I don’t see published docs for it):

In that case, you’ll have to wait until the integration’s author, or some other volunteer, chooses to re-submit the integration to Home Assistant’s Core repository and support it.

If the product is no longer being sold, it may serve as a disincentive for volunteers to invest their time in this project.

I never owned a Bloomsky station and didn’t follow their financial demise and don’t even know what/how their stations measured things other than that it had a sky camera.

It appears that Nubila is trying to build a weather network to monetize, and is building their own weather station hardware. Of note from the descriptions is no rain, wind direction, and only a 5-minute update interval…all making their hardware a non-starter IMHO.

I just found Nubila’s API docs, which look easy enough should someone want to develop yet another weather integration for HA:

Obligatory disclaimer that I’m a shareholder in a competing company, and personally have no interest in this hardware or integration other than checking out what they are up to when I saw this thread…
