👍 Blueprint Upgrades Feature Request - Vote it up!

The Blueprint ‘system’ is in desperate need of a versioning / update tool.
We all know this, but we need to get the Core group’s attention if we are going to get Dev time working on it.

Let’s get a couple of hundred votes on it and then maybe they will be able to work on it…
I don’t really care what the final solution is, just that this is not the solution. Delete every blueprint, then re-import is NOT the answer…

After all, there is some kind of Plan in mind already, just look at the pinned post at the top of this topic. It says they had something sketched out for last year, and we have not seen it…

Roadmap for blueprint update automation?

Is there any plan in the roadmap to allow for some sort of automated blueprint updates from source? Currently, the process appears to be to delete every blueprint, then re-import. This is a little time consuming and not particularly user friendly. If we’re going to be making breaking changes to blueprints, I think it’s reasonable to also offer some way to allow blueprint developers to deal with pushing out updates in response. Right now, the burden is dropped on the end user.

I know, not the best place for this, so delete it if not allowed. I felt that the request link needed to be shared in this forum with the people living with the problem…

I’d go one step further and say we need a way to search for them from within GUI as well, HACS style. In fact I think this could be a feature for HACS, it already handles integrations and front-end. If it could search, install and keep up to date blueprints it would be awesome!
