New to HASSIO, and a little lost as to the situation with getting bluetooth LE working. When looking at the addons, bluetooth did not show up to install. Yet when looking at my logs it shows Unable to install package gattlib==0.20150805: Command "python setup.py egg_info" failed with error code 1 in /tmp/pip-install-urwmuw14/gattlib/
I have trawled the forums looking at this, and confused if I should see this bluetooth function as an addon, or if it is a function of the standard HASSIO install.
These are the versions running Supervisor V 130, HassOS V 1.10 and HA V0.77.3
Any help getting this working, or some explanation would be really useful, as I have spent hours trying to get this working, but now run out of ideas.
I don’t think Bluetooth LE works with any flavour of HA atm, it’s just another function of HA not an addon. There is a known problem with the gattlib library.
Normal Bluetooth does work with both Hass.io ResinOS and HassOS. The resinOS version needs the addon the HassOS version doesn’t.
If you haven’t got access to another pi to use monitor (https://github.com/andrewjfreyer/monitor) then just use regular BT it works fine for presence and mine usually picks up my S9 within a few seconds of walking in.
