Bluetooth dongle for HA

Hello everyone,

I am using the ASUS BT-500 bluetooth dongle and am having a lot of problems with it in HA!! Is this normal?

I therefore wonder which bluetooth dongle works well in HA and where can I buy it?

Where you can buy them… well, that rather depends on which country you’re in

Could the use of a non-compatible bluetooth usb dongle (being Asus TB-500) be the cause of the error messages I get in VM (see photo)!!!

By the way, I live in Belgium…

Replace the adapter with one on the high performance list.

is worth to mess around with with an old BT2.1 dongle? I should have one around somewhere. It should be CSR based, but unknown chipset

Nope, 4.0 or later. The linux drivers are best for the 4.x adapters. The 5.x adapters generally have poor driver support but its slowly getting better in newer kernels.

Hello:

I just installed a TP-Link USB Bluetooth Adapter for PC, 5.0 Bluetooth Dongle Receiver (UB500).

I plugged it and it started to work. I disabled the old built-in one after I had the new one configured. once the new one was online, everything just transferred over automatically.
the signal strength jumpped a lot witht the new dongle.
