Bluetooth for Broadcom 43xx ony work on Resinos?

Hi there,

just installed hass.io by hand on a fresh raspbian stetch installation on rp3.

But i can’t get the addon for rp3-bluetooth working. Does this addon only wokrs on the flashable resinos system?

The logs i got:

starting version 3.2.1
bcm43xx_init
Failed to write reset command
Can’t initialize device: No error information

BT works fine btw.

I have the same error. When you said that BT works fine, do you mean outside of hass.io ? Did you managed to use it with hassio (I would like to use the bt tracker).

I could not get the addon to work (using HypriotOS here). Bluetooth itself worked after sudo apt-get update & sudo apt-get upgrade. For now I am using my phone to get the mac adress of a device.

Hi there,

yes, BT works fine outside hass.io.

But since then i am using homeassistant via pip in venv BT works fine. So thats the way to go for me now.

Has anyone managed to figure out how to get the BT add-on working inside Hass.io?
