Bluetooth found Devices

I am new to HA and its very overwhelming.

I purchase UGREEN Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter for PC, Long Range 328ft/100M via amazon.

On HA >settings >Devices & services >UGREEN Bluetooth >Bluetooth id number > it takes me to found Bluetooth devices how do i add all of them to my dashboard?

How do i find out what those items are via the numbers?

Well, if your environment is anything like mine, you don’t add them unless you know what you are looking for and why. Bluetooth is in so many devices, also from people passing by and most devices can’t actually integrate other than seeing if they are there or not. And there’s the thing many devices change MAC on a regular basis, so they may look different next time.

A lot of bluetooth devices that can integrate are autodiscovered, you should get a message asking you if you want to include them. Some you add by adding the integration for the right brand or model.

Are there any specific bluetooth devices you hoped to integrate?

Is ESPHome bluetooth better than the Ugreen bluetooth?

I do not own UGreen devices, so others can answer better.

ESPHome can be used to create a bluetooth proxy. That allows you to reach at places where an adapter in HA can’t reach. It forwards bluetooth over wifi to integrations in Home Assistant.

ESPHome also has dedicated integrations for bluetooth devices. So there may be an integration for ESPHome that does not exist for Home Assistant itself. By integrating the ESP you can still get it in HA. This happens less and less, because bluetooth proxies are providing more flexibility to integrate though HA itself.

So there is no better, they complement each other. The quality of the bluetooth depends on the quality of the device. ESP’s, due to their ability to be placed anywhere in wifi range, work well and provide more flexibility. Most do share the antenna with wifi, so ethernet esp’s might devote more time to bluetooth. I have never noticed issues with wifi devices though.

Please can you point me to the ESPHome that works with HA so i can buy?
