Bluetooth integration and Govee - am I missing something?

I have the Govee integration installed and cam see three Govee devices/entities. I also added another set of Govee lights RBIC led strip which appears to connect to the Govee app via Bluetooth rather than
Wi-Fi. They aren’t Alexa controlled so assuming just the bluetooth version. However they don’t show up in the Govee integration (although they do in the Govee app). I have the Bluetooth integration showing but these particular lights aren’t showing up in Home Assistant to be added or having been added. Any suggestions?

When I try the Govee Bluetooth integration it says “No devices found on the network”. But the Govee app shows they connected by BT and they are working with the Govee app

I’ve been messing with this for hours. Restarted home assistant several times, trying multiple integrations. It finally worked once I cycled power on my RPi.

RPI? Sorry, being a bit dense but not sure what that is?

Raspberry PI computer running Home Assistant.

Sorry - being dense!

Still not working for me - if Bluetooth is showing up as its own integration on HA so I need a BGT dongle or does it mean BT is built in - I have a Raspberry Pi 4.,

The current Intergration I believe is for ble sensors e.g

Govee Sensor

I couldn’t see it working with lights. I did start work on the integration however I currently don’t have the lights in my home setup. It was in a friend’s setup I was helping with.

Bluetooth is built in on a RPi 4, which is what I have. The Bluetooth integration showed up a long time ago but I did not have any Bluetooth devices until I got a Govee H5074 temp/hygrometer sensor 2 days ago. No integrations popped up so I tried installing the Govee Bluetooth integration and got the same message as you, "No devices found on the network”. I tried other BT/BLE integrations I found but they did not help other than showing me that they could see the device. I was going to buy a BT dongle but decided to unplug the power and plug it back in, as a last resort. That’s when the Govee integration popped up on it’s own, showing it found a new device. I installed it and everything worked. There is a list of supported devices in the HASS Govee integration documentation at Govee Bluetooth - Home Assistant That’s my complete experience with few details left out. I hope this helps you or someone else that is experiencing the same issues.

I think @ellchester was mentioning a RBIC Light strip they were trying to connect via Bluetooth. The BLE Sensors can be a bit of a pain. The custom Intergration has a good lot of troubleshooting if you can’t get the intergration through the Bluetooth BLE Tracker through Homeassistant.

About | Passive BLE Monitor integration (custom-components.github.io)

I bought another sensor of the same type, H5074. First I tried reloading the Govee integration. It did not do anything. Even though the Govee integration was already there showing my first sensor, I tried adding the integration again. I got the same message as before: "No devices found on the network”. I cycled power on my RPi. I did not get the pop up, as before. I tried reloading the integration again, nothing. I tried adding the integration again. That’s when it said it found my new device. It then added the new device.

@ellchester I came across this the other day

@Ahaaryodnon Do you know how to use that? I’ve never dealt with a custom component so barebones, when I try to add it from integrations it returns a blank response and there’s no readme either…

You would import the GitHub repository to HACS and install the plugin:

Awesome !!! Thank you soooo much…its working to some extent…power on/off and brightness level control (unable to change colour though) . I wonder how did you found this?

Hi @SK_IE ,

It’s awesome that you were able to add a light using the Govee Bluetooth Light Integration. It would be great if you can give a small guideline as to how you have done it?

I have installed the integrated and all i see is a blank when i try to add a device from Integrations page. Am i missing something ?

Please restart the HA after Installing the Integration also ensure that your Home Assistant Hardware ( rpi 3b+ in my case ) is in bluetooth range of the Led Strip and Led Strip is turned on, it should recognise automatically afterwards,

To add on, it’s blank when you add. Just press ok/submit. After that when you go to control the lights you’ll might get some error messages when you turn on/off the light or adjust brightness - this is when it’s trying to connect to the strips. After a while it’ll be connected and you can turn on/off adjust brightness. Works fine so far, installed it an hour ago.

Edit : Also, it can’t work when your phone app is connected to it. Only 1 BT connection at a time is my guess. Exit the phone app and it’ll work.

Thanks for the share - this allowed me to get a bunch of strip lights out of the cloud (used esp32 Bluetooth proxies)!

Thank you for pointing to this Govee BLuetooth integration.

I got my Bluetooth-only govee light strip “H613A” BT MAC detected and selected through an ESPHOME-proxy and after reloading the integration can now do the following:
1)Turn the Light ON/OFF
2)Change the light intensity level

However, I cannot do the following:
3) change the colour in the colour palette …

Anyone else faced same issue ?

EDIT: just re-read the posts above and can see that @SK_IE also mentionned this.

Has anyone managed to change the colour palette of the bluetooth strips through this integration ?
THank you

Forgot to say that I had to force the strip back into pairing mode for its MAC address to be listed as part of the integration: power+4xmiddle_button did the trick.
