I understand tasker is an automation application, but can you use a bluetooth push button to trigger an automation?
At the moment I am using an iphone with ios shortcuts triggering my hass automations.
I would like to be able to trigger the ios shortcuts with a bluetooth button while riding my motorcycle.
Best option I have tried so far is the flic buttons suggested by adepeuf.
They cannot trigger an ios shortcut, but they can post a webhook to ha which is just as good for me.
Flic buttons however are expensive, cannot handle a little rain, and require the flic app to be open on the phone for them to work.
Has anybody come across anything new that can communicate with HA?
I basically need a button to be attached to my bike and electric scooter to trigger an automation when arriving home (no, It cannot be based on position), so the button must be water to at least weather proof and must work with the phone locked.
I currently do it by using a phone shortcut, but it would be nice to have a physical button
Yeah, finding a button that does all that is pretty tough. The waterproof part makes it extra tricky. Maybe a workaround: wear the button somewhere on you - like in your jacket or a bag near your chest - so you can just press it when you get home. Not perfect, but could work until there’s a better option
