Bluetooth won't start on old Macbook

I’m new here. I’m trying to get HA installed native on an old no longer used macbook (2008, no MacOS, haos_generic-x86-64-16.3.img). It boots up and seems to run fine except for Bluetooth. In Setup/Devices/Bluetooth it shows this error: Failed to start Bluetooth: passive scanning on Linux requires BlueZ >= 5.56 with --experimental enabled and Linux kernel >= 5.10; Try power cycling the Bluetooth hardware.

I have found a few references to similar issues but nothing I have tried made this work. Does anyone have any ideas I might be able to try? If I can’t get this working I have an old Dell Lattitude (same era) that I can try.

Hello Thomas Pfau,

Probably not on the HA supported list.
I suggest get an adapter that is on the list or build a couple of Bluethooth proxy’s out of espHome.
