Bluetooth Yale Access Integration Works *Too* Well?

I’ve been playing with the Bluetooth integration over the past few days. Today, Home Assistant discovered the potential for a “Yale Access” integration with my August Lock 3rd Gen on my back door. I decided to click the Configure button on the Yale Access integration just to see what would happen. And to my surprise, I was able to lock/unlock my August Lock 3rd Gen!

But wait…I didn’t give the Yale Access integration any credentials or anything…I’m hoping this only worked because I already have the August integration (via cloud) configured in my Home Assistant? What exactly is happening under the hood here with the Yale Access integration that I can control my August 3rd Gen lock via Bluetooth?

It does indeed require you to have the August integration set up (see here for details).
