So I gave the plastic a go and it didn’t seem to work for me. Maybe it needs more layers like you said. Will keep trying as my doorbell battery ran out in 2 days otherwise…

I need to get something together that says once someone rings the bell that my google home speakers alert. Does anyone know how to set this up?
Also, while I am here, has anyone managed to get a secondary chime? We need one upstairs so I bought a 433mhz chime from amazon but couldnt get it to pair.

Tried using IFTTT to blink all my hue lights when someone rings the doorbell, but for some reason it’s not working.

I spoke to blurams in the discord a number of times considering home assistant.
Basically due to security they don’t release the API.
So I bought a ring and I highly suggest you do the same.
