BMP180 not reacting as BMP280?

Hi

If my memory is correct I have read somewhere that basically BMP280 can be exchanged by BMP180 for normal conditions. I tried to use a BMP180 declared as BMP280 in ESPHome but all I get is that:

[14:22:07][E][sensor.bmp280:123]: BMP280 has wrong chip ID! Is it a BME280?

So it looks like unless very similar there is still a different chip ID in it. Is there a way to indicate at ESPHome to use a different chip ID ? (without playing in code of ESPhome) or am I without solution for that out to find some BMP280 ?

No answer ? should I open an enhancement ticket on bug tracker of ESPHome ?

EspHome hard to support every sensor. but you can follow this link to add it manually

or you can use the BMP085
