Bosch Smart Home

Hello together

Is it possible to add the solar outdoor siren?
I’ve added it into my bosch app via Bosch SHC II and that controller is added in HomeAssistant. But the siren doesn’t show up in HomeAssistant.

Hi, I have the same error message after updating the bosch_shc component - what did you exactly do to resolve this?
Regards, Till

Push please

I added another smart plug to bosch controller a few days ago but it doesn’t appear in home assistant. The previously added devices remain visible in Home Assistant. This started after an update of the controller to 10.17

The siren is currently not supported. Please create an issue on github, and I can check how to add support.
For the smart plug, these are available when using the custom component. In case you have more trouble, please raise an issue.

I’ve integrated six Bosch motion sensors but only two of them display differentiated correct brightness values, while the other four show a constant value that never changes. I don’t understand this because obviously, I’ve integrated everything correctly since it works on some devices, and everything else runs perfectly with Bosch.
I also find it unlikely that these four devices are all defective.

Could there be an error in the integration here? What else could be the cause? Without the brightness values, I can’t integrate meaningful motion lighting. It has always worked well in the Bosch app with all six devices, but I want to implement it in Home Assistant.

Thx in advance!

I’ve just got my first UNIVERSAL SWITCH II - in Home Assistant, I can only see the Battery Level. I thought I can trigger Scenes with this. And I can see in the log: “Bosch SHC ‘PRESS_SHORT’” - so there is a communication and it should be possible to trigger something, right? Any hint how?

You can use the trigger via automations.

Okay… I can only use devices, and the Uni. Switch is only allowing me to use the battery state. I assume it must be a different type. Or I need to use YAML Code and access it by this?

There must be a tutorial in the Interweb for this…

Is it possible get Bosch Outdoor camera feed on HA?

No, sadly not afaik.

I think the implementation was still incomplete for Universal Switch 2. I hope that is fixed now. You can test the current master, or wait until I draft a release when the fix is confirmed working.

Hey! Did anyone manage to get a twin guard Smoke detector working? I scanned the QR code, added it in Zigbee2MQTT but the device still shows up as unsupported… I am using the SkyConnect stick if this makes any difference.

I have it coupled via the Bosch Smart Home Controller.

Why is there a Custom Component and another in Core? Can’t they be merged? From other vendors I’ve seen Custom Components be migrated into core later on and then the Custom Component was not developed anymore.

The one in Core seems to not support much, most of my Bosch Smart Home devices are not available at all or only show battery state.

The Custom Component does show most, but for the Smart Relay it only shows the child_lock switch, not the normal switch. Is this something that can be added?

Smart Realy should work, I need to look into that. You can create an GitHub issue, that’s easier to track.
For the official integration, I’m lacking a bit the time to merge.

After the latest update of the costum integration the Integration does not load anymore. See attached picture. A downgrade to earlier versions of the costum integration does not restore the funtionality. Any ideas?

@danielschmitz87 Is the issue still happening with the latest version? I would need to have more details from the log, what is going wrong. Can you create an issue in github, please?

Had the same issue but as you already wrote in the related github issue updating homeassistant to the latest version fixed everything.

Hello to you,

I would like to ask why the current version of Bosch Smart Home cannot be officially offered by tschamm? Especially for beginners who already work with Bosch Smart Home and equip the system with Home Assistant, could already benefit from the large number of other devices without HACS. - Of course, further development could take place via HACS, but the latest version could also be offered officially, couldn’t it?

How to migrate from custom component to native support · Issue #28 · tschamm/boschshc-hass (github.com)

I’ve already noticed that tschamm doesn’t have the time for this - can someone else do the migration? Technically, you would only have to carry out an exchange, or am I seeing this wrong?

I now see this through the eyes of newcomers who have just come from the Bosch Smart Home corner and would like to use the system in its current form in Home Assistant - without relying on HACS.
