I say good riddance - I never used this app and the speakers would often randomly connect to some cloud source unbidden and blast something unwelcome. I have only and ever used Aux connection for these speakers and have been satisfied with the hardware.
But! I have used the HA Soundtouch integration to interact with speaker power & volume over WiFi. Anyone know if this announcement will make that no longer possible? Just coincidentally my scene stopped working to turn on the speakers and I guess my research into that caused me to notice this announcement. The cloud service is not dead yet I think, so probably no relationship to my current issue. But thought I would 1) bring it to HA attention and 2) check on thoughts for future control capabilities.
