Brightness slider and switch for light

Hi,

i’ve got a slider for my 433mhz wall switch. With the slider i can adjust the brightness of my light. I’ve got a simple switch in the ui for the same light too. My question is, how can i achiebe that when i use the slider, the switch turns on too. I cannot use service switch turn on for this because when i double turn on the light, the light wents in dimming mode (brightness goes up and down)

Thank you for your help.

With my lights (433Mhz) I have set them as dimmable and then when I click the light a box pops up with a slider in it, I can then use the slider to set the brightness and the switch will come on when I change the brightness (if it isn’t already on). Mine are controlled by RF Link so I suppose it depends on what HW/SW you are using to control them?

you can also look into installing a custom-ui. the one from @andrey works really well.

here is what my lights look like using it:

you can then turn them on or off or dim them as desired from the main page with no pop ups needed.

I’m using pilight / homegear with intertechno family installed. RF Link sounds good. Do you have build your own rflink gateway? What hw components do you have combined? Are you satisfied with the rflink?

Yep I did build the RF Link but you can buy them ready built I think. I have lots of different components, from dimmer ceiling lights to various sockets and switches, temperature and humidity sensors, door and window sensors and pir’s. All are from different manufactures but the RF Link copes very well with them all except the Fuser door sensors as they give out different entity id’s for open/close/tamper which is a real pain to automate :P, it’s not the RF Links fault it’s the pretty silly way the Fuser works :frowning: It would have been much easier if the Fusers gave out a single entity id and then a value for open/closed/tamper, pretty much like all my other switches and sensors.

Thank you so far. Another question is which components do you have brought together to build the rf link gateway? I mean which 433 mhz sender and receiver and which arduino board?

The RF Link comes as a kit or you can buy it assembled I believe. See the RF Link store…

if you can’t solder they provide a soldering service  - see the bottom of the web page
