British Gas Smart Thermostat (now Hive) - can HA control it?

I have a British Gas Smart Thermostat, installed in 2013 and now part of the Hive environment. It’s not supported by IFTTT or Google Home (only more recent Hive devices seem to be), but I was wondering if it was possible to control it from HA, and if so how?

Can you log in to the Hive Home web site with credentials you have?

If so then it might be possible to use those credentials with the Hive component and control via Home Assistant.
If you add the username and password lines to your configuration do you get some devices added to the GUI after a restart of home assistant?
