I noticed this functionality now seems to be built into the latest HA release i.e. 2023.1.
It provides a notification service and a command service. Anybody tried it?

I just barely got this set up and tried it. It works, but any broadcast you do will have google say “Incoming broadcast, it says …” and then your text. Not super ideal, but one step closer
that’s the way the ootb and ismarslomic’s solution works because that’s how google’s api for broadcast works. otherwise, you can play a tts and interrupt music/video.
