Ive got a number of Rm mini 3’s, and all of a sudden they keep dropping off my wifi. They start slowly flashing blue.
The only one that stays online is the newest one, which is a slightly different model as i had issues orginally getting it working in HA.
I’ve had them for years in some cases, and until now they have been super reliable.
I think its related to a unifi update i did a little while ago, but im not 100% sure. Has anyone else come across this ?
I had that happen to mine, couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I figured it was just old and failed, so I ended up replacing it with the newer rm4 mini.
If you have several doing it at once though, I wouldn’t think they would fail simultaneously, unless they were hit by a surge. Maybe it’s an issue with the router. These wont work on 5g wifi either, only 2.4, so not sure if you did something with that.
I think ive gotten to the bottom of it.
Turns out after a unifi upgrade, my SSID was broadcasting on both 2.4 AND 5ghz. Changing this seems to have resolved all but 1.
I did a firmware upgrade at the same time, so cant definitively say which was the culprit.
I actually have a spare, from back when the newer versions didnt work with the integration, so ive just swapped it out with that one.
Turns out this was a group key exchange issue in unifi — it was enabled by default after an update.
Turning it off has resolved the issue for now, but i might update to RM4s, as i have confirmed they work with it enabled.
