I’m trying to configure Broadlink RM commands with HomeAssistant. I have few devices which are controlled with IR Remote and I mapped them in Broadlink.
I used the Broadlink page from HomeAssistant page but all my codes are too long and can’t be used.
Can you please give me some ideas how can I setup Broadlink RM with HomeAssistant, and then I want to trigger them with Amazon Echo. (but Android bridge is my last option)
Are you using the learn command service and copying the code provided or importing from codes learned with the rm pro?
The first should be able to be used natively, the later may require some conversion.
The code for my IR remotes was to long for the persistent notification on the front end that pops up, I found it more reliable to go to the states page and copy from there.
Yes, I followed the exact instructions from the HomeAsisstant page. Learn the codes within E-Control application, export them from my android phone, convert the Hex code to Base64 and use that in HomeAssistant configuration, but the codes are too long. How can I do this in other way?
Yes, use the services tab, call the learn_command service. Point your remote directly at your rm pro and it should respond and pop the code up on the front end as a persistent notification.
Worth restarting HA immediately before trying to learn, many others on here as well as myself found this the only reliable way to get usable results, particularly with very long code RF devices.
