Browser performance when displaying dashboard

I’m curious to know what aspects of a dashboard are most demanding on browser performance.

I have noticed that my ASUS PN51 Mini PC’s fans will spin up to keep the PC cool when I am displaying a HA dashboard, but not when I display a config screen such as the Automation page. Displaying dashboards obviously needs more processing power.

While editing my dashboards the mini PC gets quite hot and interactions with the HA UI becomes unresponsive sometimes when demands get high. I read somewhere that HA uses a particular browser engine for edit mode that is known to place high demands on browser performance.

I am running Debian 12 with Firefox browser for these editing purposes.
Perhaps another browser performs better?

For general dashboard use, I am using Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets using Fully Kiosk Browser. I’ve noticed that performance is slow also and some cards fail to load correctly when the pages are refreshed. Using card-mod to set a button’s colour is particularly unreliable. The cards rarely retain their custom colour.

My dashboards are relatively simple, with mushroom cards and tile cards and I generally try to stick with official integrations or ones that are well known. I am not showing video.

Even the default dashboard makes the mini PC fan spin up.
