In a major renovation project I have to redo the complete electrical wiring and replace all switches, buttons and sockets. All should work with ZHA, zigbee and only when necessary via WiFi, as there are way to many active WiFi Devices in the network.
I do consider using the BSEED ZigBee series products. I do understand that the wiring is different to what I’m used to with the sonoff zigbee products.
For example, I want to toggle a hallway light from 4 different places (buttons) and HA.
I assume I would need 4 of those smart switches, of which only one gets connected to the light bulb.
How do wire the other three buttons (besides connecting L and N) and how do I „link“ them to the same bulb?
I case HA is down, only the directly attached button would work or are they „linked“ via zigbee and do not need the ZHA bridge?
Thanks in advance for any advice, hints and (alternative) product proposals.
Easy. One switch is connected to live, neutral and light. This is the master switch. All others are just slave switches, doesn’t controll anything and have just live and neutral connected for power.
And then you just create automation that will turn everything on/off using some pir sensor(s) and if sensor go down create automation that pressing any of them will turn on/off light.
I have switches like this. They are ok and very responsive. Bseed is really good stuff much better then moes. Have them both.
But those switches have one flaw. You can’t turn it on/off with your elbow like you can with rocker switch.
