BTHome questions - data unavailable

My Passive BLE Monitor install on HA Core stopped working on 2022.08, so I upgraded to 2022.09 to try BTHome. One thing I’ve noticed is my Xiaomi temperature / humidity sensors are often showing “Unavailable”, which I see on my phone’s home screen using an Android widget as well as in the console. I’d like to see if this can be fixed up.

I suspect what’s happening is there’s a small gap in the data because the Bluetooth signal signal strength is weak and it doesn’t report in as often as BTHome would like - see screenshot below. Previously with Passive BLE it would just keep showing the previous temperature.

Question: Can BTHome be configured to show the previous temperature rather than “unavailable”?

Fopr now I have gotten Passive BLE Monitoring working again, it seems to work fine alongside BTHome. Is this likely to cause any problems, running two services that consume BLE data?

Hi, have you been able to fix this?

I don’t get the error any more, but unfortunately I don’t recall how I fixed it. It will have been something basic like upgrading to a newer version of HA I suspect.
