Budget outdoor camera - no cloud

Hello everyone,

I’m currently happily using HA Core (I think) with a Yi Home (MStar) camera (among other things). The camera has been flashed with https://github.com/roleoroleo/yi-hack-MStar/ to allow me to cut it from any kind of cloud activity (after all, that’s the reason I’m using HA in the first place).

Now, I’d like to get the same kind of functionnality (movement detection & recording on HA instance) for the same kind of price, but with an outdoor camera. Ideally, I’d be able to connect it to a solar panel of some kind. The Reolink Argus Eco recently caught my eye, but it looks like it isn’t useful without a cloud connection.

Since this community has often proved very helpful, I thought I’d try asking: would any of you know of a device that would fit the bill ?

I’m using a couple of hikvision ipc-d140 cameras outside.
I have blocked all internet communication on the cameras and they work fine with HA locally.
Very happy with the quality… and the were only around £45 (UK) so very reasonable.
