Bug with forked-daapd / MPD - "unexpected return value"

I used to be able to use Google say with MPD and forked-daapd (now OwnTone) - now when I try that I get “Unexpected return value”.

Is anyone interested in helping to figure out where the bug is and how it can be mitigated?
