I have setup a Shelly Dimmer 2 with this bulb, a 7W LED.
It doesn’t work very well together and the bulb is dim at any brightness setting and the brighter the setting the more it flickers.
Since it seems that compatability is a bit random and depends on the driver working with what shelly is sending, I wondered if anyone had a recommendation for a confirmed working bulb? I need one I can buy in the UK.
Are you using it with or without neutral?
Did you notice that Shelly documentation gives: Dimmable LED 10W – 200W
and
*When using the device without neutral, Shelly Dimmer 2 requires at least 20W @ 240 VAC of power consumption to operate. If the connected light has a smaller power consumption, then Shelly Bypass is needed for the device to work.
I’m confident that with neutral connected any >10w dimmable decent quality LED will work, it’s Shelly, not some random dimmer from AE.
Also, documentation gives:
CALIBRATION
Depending on your bulb, you can pick leading or trailing edge from the drop-down menu under Dimming type. You can also select Calibrate with Bypass if the Bypass is connected. Another setting you can activate from the calibration menu is Autodetect type of load during calibration, which detects the type of load of your bulb during the calibration process.
For example your actual bulb is trailing edge type, driving it with leading edge dimming would cause misbehaviour.
I’ve got the bypass already, I tried calibrating with and without the ‘use bypass’ setting and it didn’t improve anything.
LED bulbs that are 10W and above seem to be quite unusual. They do exist but they form quite a small portion of the market. I am wondering if there might be a better solution or alternative to the shelly. Are people using it successfully?
