Hello,
I have switched from Homeseer + Deconz + Hue to a new installation and wanted to use everything with one intel NUC, so 1 said goodbye to Homeseer and slowly started moving everything from Homeseer to Home assistant.
When I was done with this I started to move al my ZigBee device from Deconz + Hue to Zigbee2MQTT.
Then the problems started, I went form a relatively ok setup to an unreliable setup.
So I started to search the internet for possible problems, there I found a forum post on the openhab forum telling me that my Busch-Jaeger switches are not capable over handling too much devices on a network.
I have around 75 Devices, and around 22 Busch-Jaeger 6735/6736/6737
In the BJ manual there is a phrase saying:
The Number of devices in the ZLL Network is limited to a maximum of 20 Devices this includes al system devices and lamps.
So this make me to belief the Busch-Jaeger are the reason everything is running slow, not snapy at all. Now I created the following setup:
ESXi Server Running VM
- Home assistant in a VM
- Photon Linux with Docker
On the Photon Server I have 3 Docker instances running Zigbee2mqtt, Zigbee2mqtt1, Zigbee2mqt2
Running on channel 15,20,25
1 -Zigbee2mqtt – Channel 15 – using a Sonoff Dongle CC2652P – base_topic: Zigbee2mqtt
2 -Zigbee2mqtt1 – Channel 20 – using a Lidl Silvercest gateway adapter: ezsp (EFR32MG21)
3 -Zigbee2mqtt2 – Channel 25 – Not yet active
Zigbee network 1 – Want to add the BJ switches with binding
Zigbee network 2 – Want to add the all other devices and end devices
Zigbee network 3 – Want to add the BJ switches with No/ some binding
Making this configuration in ran in to some small problems, because I do not want some of my BJ to run commands trough Home assistant but bind the directly to a group or lamp.
But for some reason binding with the EFR32MG21 Dongle/gateway is not working on the BJ switches
If I bind with the CC2652P it work perfectly.
I use the Silvercest gateway so I can place them on the floor they need to control, so I do not have everything in my control cabinet (meterkast).
Are there people having similar experience with devices not handling to much traffic on the zigbee network and just drop off become unresponsive?
Gr. Rick
