Buy a Zooz 800 Z-wave USB stick or wait for Nabu Casa's new device?

I’m starting to migrate my home automation from Hubitat to HA Green. I’d like to start migrating my ~50 Zwave devices over to HA using Z-wave LR as much as possible. I’m not sure whether I should buy a Zooz 800 stick or wait for Nabu Casa’s new device with its external antenna.

Can anyone comment on whether Nabu Casa’s Z-wave solution is likely two months out, or six, or twelve? I can wait a couple months and would prefer not to migrate my devices twice and break my automations in the process. Thanks!

I have been using the Zooz 800 stick for a month with no problems.

Hi [email protected],

What problem are you trying to solve? Long range zwave, security problems, something else?

  1. If you want to solve a problem, look at change.
  2. If you want to change because there are newer toys, just change it, your the one doing the work.
  3. If all is OK just leave it.

Kinda how I look at it.

I’m going from Hubitat to Home assistant to take advantage of a few integrations on HA that are not available on Hubitat. Hubitat has built-in Zwave LR and Zigbee with external whip antennas that have been working very, very well. I’m hoping to find a similarly capable Zwave solution for HA.
