I’m trying to setup some Moe’s WM-105-M smart dimmer modules with HomeAssistant. The Tuya dimmer modules are attached to some 30W LED oyster lights.
I was able to install HASS, setup tuya-local, and pair the dimmer module with HomeAssistant.
However, I’m having some trouble getting the brightness sliders to properly.
In the official Tuya app, for this relay module, there’s a slider for “Brightness”, and another for “Range”.
I did notice some oddities here though - if I try to tap on the brightness slider, it seems to jump around randomly on its own. And then if I drag it up to 100%, it then seems to randomly go back down to 2%. But if I drag it to some middle number - e.g. 70%, it then automatically goes back up to 100%. I don’t know if this is just the Tuya app being buggy?
Does anybody know what the “Range” slider does?
I know on other dimmer modules (e.g. Shelly), you can make it automatically calibrate the relay, so that it can figure out the dimming range of the attached load. I can’t seem to find any similar function on the Tuya app though?
Back in HomeAssistant, it’s also behaving oddly - the brightness slider isn’t linear - and if I set it to 70% it actually seems dimmer than say, 40%.
Is this a calibration issue, or is there something else at play here?
And how do you auto-calibrate the dimmer modules?
