I have a new camera entity, but I can’t seem to see that cog icon so I can rename it? Am I missing something obvious? When I click the more info, I get the camera picture showing, but no cog to edit.
I believe the settings cog icon is only available for auto-discovered items.
If you added it manually change the entity id in the config.
Its a Unifi NVR camera, so sort of auto discovered from the NVR. It’s not manually configured.
Actually, I’m pretty sure the cog is only available for entities from components that create a unique id that is entered into the core.entity_registry in the .storage folder.
I don’t think you can rename the entity_id for other devices that don’t get stored there but you can change the name/friendly_name in customize:
