As the topic states looking for the best camera I could get that ticks my boxes, and those are.
No Cloud, like only Home Assistant connection, and Maybe also the Apple Secure Thing connection.
A good quality video, at least 1080p but a sharp and detailed one
The memory I have is around 200gb of space for 6 cameras
They should be preferably battery operated and cargable through power bank or so
Face detection, but that can also be done on HA
Movement detection with zones, that can also be done on HA on the side
Two way audio would be a nice extra
No need for a local storage
Night mode with good quality picture
All the processing can be run on the Home Assistant, it should have the performance, it’s an M1 Mac Mini
P.S I already went through a bunch of topics here, but they were either couple years old or didn’t had the options I’m looking for
UPDATE:
I’m kinda looking for a poi camera now so for now the topic is kinda closed because first I want to do my own research about them
Still huge thanks to everyone for being so helpful and active !!!
I’ve been looking around for some answers: when I thought I had found Foscam as the best choice, I suddenly found that there are some issues with it too.
If you ask ten HA users for a camera recommendation, you will get eleven different replies.
Different people have different priorities. In my case the highest priority is NO CLOUD. I have four Wyze Cams (3’s and 4’s) with RTSP flashed to them and one Amcrest. I have no need for face or motion detection, but if there is a way to add this in HA, I would be interested.
Yep that’s always the problem, but since I’m super new to all this stuff I’m learning with each minute, and now I kinda want a 24/7 recording camera, with movement / maybe also person detection, with usb cable for power and a way that the camera records directly to my HA / Mac Mini, but a really good quality one, not a professional grade, but one where you can definitely tell what person is in the frame… the more answers I get the better I know
24/7 recording camera on battery??
That is a tough one. Adding night mode makes it harder.
I think you might have to charge it at least a couple of times each day to get it to run 24 hours.
