Camera Snapshot Image Incomplete

When I installed the EZViz camera integration it automatically updated the default lovelace dashboard to show a recent image from the camera.

  1. I cannot find a property that controls the frequency of the displayed image.
  2. I cannot find a place to control the resolution of the displayed image.
  3. The image is sometime incomplete, starting as good at the top then garbage or solid green partway down.
  4. The Snapshot action in an automation saves an image that has varying completeness, similar to the displayed image described above.
  5. I cannot find a way to set or control the resolution of the image being captured by the Snapshot action.

Hello, i’m trying to get a snapshot when my doorbell is pressed. Do you have Any tips for me to get it working?

It sounds like you are trying your first automation, where the doorbell pressed is the Trigger and camera.snapshot is the Action. The biggest stumble I had as a beginner was around storing the snapshot. I’m storing the snapshots (I have thousands because I’m creating a timelapse video of a building construction project) in the \media directory. The easiest way to work with directories and files is to use the Samba add-on. Storing the snapshot as one filename that gets overwritten each time is fairly simple, get to there first then progress your way to using a dynamic filename if you want to store each one.
