Camera to be shown in Google assistant

Dumb question maybe but is there a way to show my camera which works perfectly in HA app in the google assistant app? If anyone has this working please can they share how they did it?

I’m on the latest HA version and Google is synced via Nabu Casa. The camera shows as a device in google assistant app however when I ask to see feed via the google assistant app it brings up camera window but nothing shows

If I can get this working I can justify a nest hub

Ideally I want it as native as possible and not via a script to execute a cast

Many thanks in advance

Only certain cameras work with Google Assistant (native). To get an HA camera to work with Google Assistant/Nest Hub, you need to create a camera with an rtsp feed. Then expose that camera to google and you can call it up on the nest hub. I have it working, but the buffering is very bad and kind of pointless so far.

Look into camera.stream and also creating a generic camera template with rtsp.

My generic camera is rtsp and works a treat in the HA Lovelace app

Maybe it’s the buffering issue you describe but possibly even slower via the google assistant app

Guess the only way to know for sure would be to get my hands on a nest hub. Expensive mistake potentially
