Cameras - Reolink or Ubiquiti better for HA

Hallo,

sometimes things have to happen quickly, which is why I bought two Reolink POE cameras last year.
In my opinion the cameras a good, but I have no comparison.

Since I’m planning to install more cameras (7) in the house, the question is: Reolink or Ubiquiti?
Price shouldn’t be the deciding factor here.
What’s most important to me is how you rate the quality of the integration in the home security system?
Is the integration of Reolink or Ubiquiti better?
Is the image and build quality of Ubiquiti ultimately better than that of Reolink?

Worst case they are equal
Best cast Reolink is better
I last got Reolink in 2022
Last unifi was 2018 (the g4)

I prefer amcrest image but Reolink has amazing image and best bang for buck features. Unless you live in country with no lighting Reolink is great

Unifi was terrible. My comparison is to the Amcrest models I replaced my unifi with. They weren’t bad, they just weren’t worth it as they were not great. Reolink and Amcrest were noticeably good image and low light was good. Lighting was never good enough for unifi and image was just OK.

I don’t buy Reolink but it is top 2 for me

EDIT
Unifi is all in one solution but they are slowly creeping into en***tification. It will require less management which may be important.

I personally would buy 1 of each and compare side by side. Return what you don’t like and buy more of the one you like. This is best way to get your answer

After Reolink joined the Works with HA, I scrapped all of my Eufy cameras and installed Reolink ones.

Using a Home Hub Pro with:
4x E1 Pro
1x Duo 3 Wifi
2x Atlas PT Ultra
1x Wifi Doorbell

Working really well so far (after I figured out the right sequence of how to add the cameras to the Home Hub, etc).

I just bring in everything through the Home Hub Pro, so I only had to add the hub to HA and all the cameras showed up and worked in HA automatically. Can see cameras on dashboards, can just PT functionality, can see motion sensors and AI/smart person/vehicle/animal detection, etc.

I hope Reolink sees some of these posts about people that DIRECTLY bought their cameras BECAUSE of their Works with HA local integration.

I can’t speak to Reolink but if you have a ubiquity environment it is simple to add the ubiquity cameras under the protect software. I am a unifi shop and chose unifi cameras. They have been very reliable and have met all of my needs. The integration with HA was local and it just works.

I use Ubiquiti network/wifi gear, but did not go with their cameras as I needed some battery/solar/wifi options that I didn’t see in their camera line.

I have nothing against Ubiquiti and am not saying Reolink are “better” (or worse).
