Hi guys,
I am planning my Smart Home for my kids and myself.
I spent a few days with research of what I need for my purposes and with setting up a little testing enviroment (raspberry 4b, conbee II, some sensrors, plugs, lights…). The automation possibilities especially with NodeRed are awesome.
Could you please have a look whether my setup makes sense or could be improved.
I’ve already finished the toughest part with slitting walls and wiring ceilings.
I am not that technically, but depending on scale I would try to use as few as possible WLAN devices, because of bandwidth. Set up an additional WLAN for smart home and different channels for that and zigbee if possible.
Then the aqara sensors tend to be working better if connected to an aqara router. So you can replace the nous plugs with aqaras.
There are also smart home smoke detectors, CO2 and water leakage sensors you could add.
A smart lock is also nice to have.
Another thing are bluetooth proxys to track a person/device inside the house. Not sure if the is already possible with the Atom Echo.
And depending on the kids age, if you want them to deny access, something like this is good. The idea comes from this video https://youtu.be/yDNWVRmRHlY?si=Gcvdb3dAaOYjPM82&t=878
Solid plan. Ask any questions as you roll it out.
