Can add-ons modify user configuration?

I’d like my add on to change its user configuration, i.e. ‘/data/options.json’.
I changed the options scheme and I want the add-on the migrate the old scheme to the new one.
Is this possible?

I think it was the addon options function.
I saw it while looking for something else. No idea how to use it though.

@HasQT Great thanks, that helped. https://github.com/hassio-addons/bashio/blob/167216925b308d2e82edafc55d62eb1b04c01ff5/lib/addons.sh#L515 appears to be the call which i was looking for. also found some documentation here Endpoints | Home Assistant Developer Docs
