One of those overnight issues - things were fine when I went to bed, woke up and one instance of HA on my LAN went kaput.
I have two instances of HA on my LAN. That’s because I have two buildings, too far apart for wifi, but joined by fiber optics so it’s all one LAN. I have hahouse on a Pi in my house and habarn on a Pi in my barn. I haven’t updated in a while, since I haven’t had time to babysit and fix any of the usual glitches I find when I do updates. The house instance, the one with the issue, is on these versions (actually both instances are on this same version):
- Core 2024.6.4
- Supervisor2 024.12.0
- Operating System 12.4
- Frontend 20240610.1
This morning I woke up and when I got to my computer to work on editing a YAML file, my browser would not connect with hahouse. I tried the companion app on my iPhone and it wouldn’t connect - gave me an error 500. I went downstairs and rebooted hahouse. I didn’t see any warnings on the screen while it was booting, but, until our Christmas stuff is put away, it’s hard to see that screen, so it’s possible I may have missed a warning that wasn’t highlighted in a different text color. It rebooted, but I could not access it with my iOS companion app. I can still access habarn (same versions as hahouse) just fine. I waited to give it time for all systems to be up and running, but I still cannot access hahouse from my companion app, but can use it without issue from Chrome, on my Mac.
Any idea what’s going on with this one instance that the companion app won’t work with it? I know it’s been a while since an update, but, in my experience, 2 out of 3 times when I install an update, it breaks something and takes me from 1-5 days of research and dealing with other updates before I have everything working again - and I am not at a point where I can take that kind of time away from my work.
