For all integrations by default a sub forum should be created. I want to be able to view all posts about a given integration or to be able to write a new post specific to a given integration and have it all on the one place.
For an integration’s home page, I would like a link to the sub forum so that people can easily see discussion for that given integration.
Considering that a lot of forum members have a hard time with the limited number of categories we have now and the logistical nightmare of maintaining 2524 (and ever increasing) categories, I’m guessing that is going to be a hard “no” from the admins.
There is no way to force all forum users to post in a particular topic.
Just start a topic asking what you want to know.
Or as I said, use the search function. It has many features to help you narrow down an answer. e.g. here are the solved topics about mqtt switches tagged automation posted in the configuration category this year:
I’m not asking to force all forum users to post in a particular topic. I’m asking for an easier way to find chatter for an integration in one place. People can still post in the normal way if they wish to.
I’ll give you an example, there is an integration that I use where everyone replies to a feature request that was created 6 years ago for the integration. All the chatter is completely off topic to the original feature request but it is the one central place people go to, to talk and ask questions about the integration. This happens because there is a need and want for one place to talk about the integration.
For smaller integrations it is pointless me creating a new post that will just not get any attention and will be buried quickly under the posts that come after it.
I like being able to go to an integration’s home page and click a single link to go to github or known issues, I would like to see a link to discuss the integration that either takes you to a single post thread or a sub forum.
