Can HA “answer” the Reolink Video Doorbell to silence it, like answering the phone call?

My Reolink Video Doorbell is integrated with HA. The doorbell “calls’ our phones whenever someone presses the doorbell. Is it possible to let Home Assistant “answer” that call, effectively silencing the doorbell?

Scenario: someone rings the doorbell, I’m close to the front door so I open the door (which has a HA sensor) but I still need to get my phone / tablet and “answer” the call before the devices stop ringing.

I could not find an obvious way (API?). My hope was that HA could silence the call, by detecting that the front door was opened.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

You could have a presence sensor on the inside of your front door, or just put a switch sensor for when the door opens.

That’s interesting. Ours doesn’t do that. I get a notification and the app opens on my phone automatically, but the phone doesn’t “ring” and I never have to “answer” a call. I usually just ignore my phone if I’m home :man_shrugging:.
