Can I control a CCT (WW/CW) LED strip with an RGB(W) controller?

Hi,

I want to implement a few high density Tunable White LED strips in my house. For everything else I am using Z-Wave, but I can’t find any dual-channel CCT Z-Wave controllers except Sunricher which unfortunately seem hard to procure. Since a RGBW controller has 4 channels, I was wondering if I can just use two of them to control the two channels on the LED strips? My guess is, that it’s technically possible, but I also need HA to recognize the red and green channels as CW and WW. Is that possible somehow?

Thanks,
Julian

Hi Julian,

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same exact need, as I’m installing WW to CW tunable strips throughout my apartment.

If so, what controller are you using? I’m looking at the Zooz ZEN31.

Thanks!
Neil
